The product VK as it is termed, is approved by the Indian Institute of Technology ( I.I.T. - Bombay ) under ASTM A - 380. Their inspection report states that VK chemicals when tested have cleaned and passivated stainless surface satisfactorily under American Standards for Testing Materials (ASTM A - 380).
The one product from VK is,
VK Jelly ( Gel / Paste form ) which is used to clean weld seams and surrounding areas and is applied with brush. It is used to remove heavy scales, discolouration, annealing colours, rust particles near weld and welding affected area by heat without grinding or wire brushing or buffing.
VK Jelly does not give Black or Yellow marks on surface after washing with water.
Coverage : Approx. 100 meters of running weld seam per kg of VK Jelly

Application Procedure :
VK Jelly is thick gel which is to be applied on Stainless Steel blackened weld joint & surrounding area. It is applied with brush and kept on the surface from 10 to 60 min. depending on temperature of metal, contamination and type of Stainless Steel. After that time, SS weld seam area is washed with water and light scrubbing with plastic scrubber may be required otherwise high pressure water spray can be used to get totally clean weld seam & surronding area without wire brushing or grinding or buffing.
