The PIM-X21 DCE type and DTE type interface converter provide hardware level shifting and signal generation as required by X21 interface. The series accommodates full duplex operation of synchronous devices.

Each converter incorporates TD , RD and control signal indicators. PIM-X21 DCE type is designed for a DTE RS-232 port such as a CRT terminal to a DCE X21 port such as a X21 modem.PIM-X21 DTE type is designed for a DCE RS-232 port such as a Modem to a DTE X21 port such as a Router.
